Open Call on Closing Local Coverage Gaps

Press Forward’s first open call will address the long-standing inequalities in journalism coverage and practice in the U.S., by investing in small, local newsrooms that provide original reporting in underserved communities.

Local news outlets should be easier to start and sustain. That’s why Press Forward is funding solutions to the common challenges newsrooms face. Through this Open Call, Press Forward awarded $20 million+ to strengthen the infrastructure of local news, one of our four investment priorities.
