“Local news is so important to communities because of representation. We’re all here, we’re all working, we’re all trying to live our best lives. We can’t do that without credible information.”
— Dana James, Black Iowa News

Join us in supporting local news across the country.

Like sidewalks and libraries, reliable local news is essential to healthy communities. Through trusted local news and information, people learn how to vote, where to volunteer, and when to raise an issue at City Hall. Local news connects neighbors, holds leaders accountable, and helps families make decisions about their schools, taxes, and safety. And 96% of Americans agree local news strengthens their community.

Press Forward is a national network of 130+ funders and 48+ local chapters helping communities build durable local news. Our network brings together foundations, local funders, and individual donors to support sustainable models, close coverage gaps, and cultivate the local news champions who keep communities strong.

Your gift helps more communities thrive with the local news they deserve.

Press Forward’s Pooled Fund is housed at The Miami Foundation, whose tax exempt ID is 65-0350357. Our grantees serve communities nationwide.
