Press Forward’s first open call will address the long-standing inequalities in journalism coverage and practice in the U.S., by investing in small, local newsrooms that provide original reporting in underserved communities.

Program guidelines for our second open call of 2024 will be released later this year.
Submit a Press Forward Profile
Whether or not they qualify for the current open call, local news initiatives can still get their organizations in front of funders by filling out a Press Forward Profile. These profiles will be available to all Press Forward partners as they make their funding decisions.
The application, designed to take an hour to complete, consists of a few basic questions about the initiative.
